I've Been Karma-lized!
Hey guys, a few people have been asking where I've been, so here it is - I've been here, just busy at work, and at home.
I recently got a new toy which has been taking up some time, a lovingly used (like brand new) Korg Karma synthesizer:
.While I've always wanted a synth, I wasn't really in the market for one, but a firend was selling his and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I'm not going to get specific, but it was less than the going rate on E-bay, and came with a heavy-duity two-tier Apex stand, damper pedal, (and a box of new floppies). I feel like I ripped the guy off. What can you do?
Though I've been away from the podcasting community and message boards for over a week, I haven't forgotten about my old friends. In fact, in my first day of noodling w/ the new keyboard, I stumbled across a sound sample that reminded me of Drew Domkus and on of his favorite phrases with which to annoy Dawn. I came up with a silly little song - Drew_It.MP3 - (1MB). Remember, it's my first synth, first keyboarding in a while, and this was just something fun I came up with after stumbling across a certain patch, which I'm sure you'll figure out if you listen to it and you're a DnD regular. FYI, I played everything but the drum pattern, which is a preset.
As for my show, yeah, I'm well overdue for a new one. I kind of painted myself in a corner by promising myself and a few others that then next one would be a flying show - which I have the audio for, I just need to edit. But its a lot of work and other things have been taking my time. Hopefully I can crank something out this evening or tomorrow. Thank god for long weekends.
BTW, I've got two on deck already for after I do the flying one, so don't worry, I'm not going away yet.
Thanks for missing me, guys.
